Established in 1991, the Palestine Center is the educational program of The Jerusalem Fund, a Washington-based non-profit humanitarian organization. The Center is dedicated to the study and analysis of the relationship between the United States and the Middle East, with particular emphasis on Palestine and the Arab-Israeli conflict.

The Center seeks to bring into focus the implications of specific U.S. policies with regard to Palestine and the broader region. Additionally, the Center aims to provide a much-needed Palestinian/Arab perspective that can address the political, academic, and media establishments in Washington, DC and beyond.

The Work of the Center

The Center provides information and analysis on matters relating to U.S. policy on Palestine and the Arab-Israeli conflict to key individuals, institutions, and media outlets. In pursuing its goals, the Center sponsors luncheon forums, symposia, and press briefings to address these issues. The proceedings of these briefings are published as “For the Record” summaries. In addition, the Center produces Information Briefs, Policy Briefs, and Special Reports written by leading international experts. The Center also hosts informational briefings geared to middle and high school student groups from all over the United States. The Center offers several film series each year on various topics, chronicling the experiences of Palestinians within the Occupied Territories, Israel, and the Middle East. The films survey a variety of issues, including historical circumstances, political exigencies, and Palestinian society and culture. Finally, the Center maintains an extensive and expanding collection of books, videos, and periodicals in an effort to support research on Palestine and related matters.
